I just came across a nice visualisation of Dan Saffer's »Disciplines of User Experience« which I accidently found on the German Wikipedia article on »Interaction Design« made by the Munich-based studio »envis precisely«.

Saffer's original is this pretty and more puristic one:

In fact, the altered and more detailed version by envis precisely helped me quite good to get what Interaction Design comprises.

PS: »envis precisely« sounds like »Elvis Presley« to me. ;)

As page 118 of Business Punk magazine #2 lied open on my table I randomly started drawing the new Karstadt owner Nicoals Berggruen - not a caricature but something more intense.

Inspiriert durch Manuel Wehltes Blogeintrag zur Slow Mobility-Bewegung, die wohl aus der Schweiz kommen soll, habe ich eine weitere Variante seines Signets entworfen.

Hier zunächst Manuels Version.

Er erklärt seine Grafik so:

Durch das Bike kommt der Gedanke der “langsamen Mobilität” in unserer Gesellschaft einfach besser rüber. Die Farben “Grün” (Umweltgedanke) und “Orange” (Leben, Freude) passen auch gut miteinander.

Nun, meine Version.

Bei meiner Variante ging es mir darum, dem Inhalt etwas mehr Leben einzuhauchen und "natürlicher" zu wirken. Auch habe ich versucht, die drei Punkte mit dem Text zu verknüpfen - die Punkte lagen meiner Meinung nach vorher etwas "wertlos" herum.

Kennt man Slow Mobility? Ich kannte es vorher nicht, aber finde den Namen und die Idee gut. Bereits 2008 hatte ich mit meinem Twitter-Hintergrund und dem dortigen Claim etwas Ähnliches ausgedrückt.

Slow is the new fast.

As a friend asked me to create a business card for here she wanted a stamp-like (German: Stempel) effect for her logo.

By applying the following technique I got this result.

1. Create your Rounded Rectangle (15px radius)
2. By entering the layer's Blending Options, change the Stroke size, e.g. 8, its Position, e.g. Inside and its Color to a one being typical for stamps, e.g. #8995C3
3. Then, change the layer's Fill Opacity (interior opacity) to 0% so that you only see the border (Stroke) you just added
   
4. Now the magic happens: Set the layer's Blending Mode to Dissolve and change the layer's Master Opacity to let's say 70%

Your stamp's frame is done!

If you want, you can add some text in it and apply the same Dissolve technique. To be more legibile you should use a higher Master Opacity, e.g. 90%.
