As a guidance to help my focus what I want to do, I need to make this statement: I AM A WRITER, NOT A DESIGNER. If I accidently design something that feels, looks and works fine, that's cool. But what I really want is writing storys in whatever medium and source code.
A quick and dirty, five minute, superficial research shows that I'm not alone with this notion:
Thinking about building a dedicated website for this subject, e.g. iaawnad.naii.de.
Still thinking...
UPDATE #1: 04.05.2013, 12:34 pm
I found another very good article "Don’t build. Compose." at Medium (by Kurt Leafstrand) via Facebook. One quote sums it up pretty good:
"software isn't built; it’s written. The final product is not like the Bay Bridge. It's like a novel."
Though the article takes a more technical approach (by saying "building" or "developing") it generally fits with my impression and goal that writing is the ultimate source, even or especially for modern software development.
So I want to end this update with the quote of the same article:
"Product development is an art, and not a science. And the way to process improvement is to think in terms of how our teams can work together not to build a better bridge, but to write a better novel."
Additional Remark (~12:45pm) to UPDATE #1: 04.05.2013, 12:34 pm
So, this fictional hash tag #iaawnad could also stand for developer, i.e. "i am a writer not a developer". Just saying. ,)
